If you are planning to get your study visa in the USA, you have to obtain a non-immigrant visa, for a temporary stay.
The non-immigrant visa prominence is a mandatory process, as the admission details are checked & recorded by the CBP officer. So, the kind of school & course of study you wish to go set instead require an F Visa or M Visa.
Visa for Study in USA
F1 Visa – It is for academic studies. The F1 Visa is a conventional international student visa in the U.S. It is mainly for studying English at an English Language College or University or Institute. As per the rule of I-20 form (Certificate of Eligibility for Nonimmigrant Student) expiration date, the students must complete their studies before the mention date. Furthermore, students can apply for optional practical training (OPT) which gives you a permit for working for up to one year after completing the academic program.
M1 Visa – The ‘M1’ Visa is provided to students, who decide to take admission in a non-academic or vocational school or training in the U.S. Due to the condition, M-1 visa, the student should have full-proof evidence that he/she has enough funds, to immediately pay tuition fees & living expense for the whole period of stay. In addition to this, M-1 Visa holders for vocational & technical programs are not allowed to work during the time of course.
J1 Visa – A ‘J1’ Visa is allotted to the students who chose practical training that is not available in their country; want to participate in an exchange academic program to complete their training. It is as similar as F1 VISA for employment, with some restriction, until and unless permission is given by the program sponsor.
