Provincial Nominee Program
The first thing you must keep in mind while applying through a PNP program is, that a Canadian province or territory has to nominate you. So, that you can settle where you want to.
The following are the ways you can apply for PR through the PNP program:-
- Apply for Canada PNP directly
To apply directly, you need to choose a province or territory. Your application will be evaluated by the province based on the criteria of that particular province’s nominee program. You will get a nomination letter if your profile is acceptable. Based on the nomination, you will be able to apply for permanent residency at IRCC (Immigration, Refugees, and Canadian Citizenship).
- Express Entry SystemIf you want to move through Express Entry, then you need to be nominated by province or territory. Create an Express Entry profile with the needed documents, and increase your chances of being accepted into the pool.
The proceeding time under Express Entry is around six months.
- Non-Express Entry SystemIf you get your nomination under the Non-Express Entry, you have to apply for permanent residency online. You must have a medical exam and a police clearance certificate. The processing time in this is longer than Express Entry which usually takes 1-2 years.
