IRCC issued invitations to 500 individuals for the category-based draw for Senior Managers with Canadian Work Experience, on July 10, 2026. There has been a substantial decrease in the Comprehensive Ranking System cut-off score for this draw, to 392. This draw has been the easiest one of the year with regards to the selection criteria.
The latest draw is the fourth new Express Entry draw in July 2026 that occurred this week. IRCC has been using its draw cluster strategy very actively, conducting selection draws one after the other, since July 6. The drastic cut-off of 392 points has been a huge decline from the last senior managers draw conducted in March 5, 2026, where a cut-off of 429 was needed.

Why the CRS Cut-off Score Dropped to 392
The CRS cut-off score of 392 is extremely low in the year 2026 in light of the fact that the average score for standard Canadian Experience Class is well above 510. Such a big decrease in the CRS cut-off score is mainly due to the shortage in candidates as well as the double increase by IRCC in intake for this particular management class.
When the last senior managers draw was made in March, IRCC provided invitations to just 250 Permanent Residents at the CRS cut-off score of 429. Since IRCC increased the quota to 500 Invitations to Apply (ITAs), the electronic system had to select ITAs from lower-ranked candidates. It is easy for the immigration officials to lower the floor score when the top layer of candidates with high scores is removed.

Who is eligible within this stream?
Senior managers with Canadian Work Experience stream is for those specialized corporate executives who are currently engaged in economic activities in the country. In order to meet the requirements of this particular stream, individuals need to have certain professional qualifications –
- Eligible under any of the main streams of Express Entry Program (Canadian Experience Class, Federal Skilled Worker Program, etc.).
- Should have at least six months of continuous full-time skilled work experience in Canada during last three years.
- This work experience should be relevant to eligible occupations within the field of senior management codes within the National Occupational Classification major group 00. Appropriate occupations include financial, communication, healthcare, construction, production, and corporate business senior managers.
Since candidates are compared to the other members of the executive pool, the corresponding CRS threshold is much lower compared to other draws.
Next Steps for Candidates
Corporate officers who currently have an active profile in the system, have the necessary management experience in Canada, and received at least 392 CRS points prior to the March 15, 2026 tie-breaker draw are recommended to sign in and see whether an official Invitation to Apply (ITA) has been issued.
If you were just shy of meeting the 392 point requirement, small improvements to your profile will be able to change everything dramatically in subsequent draws. Improving your language test scores, updating education documents, or gaining some work experience in the area may be what it takes. With IRCC giving a lot of preference to candidates selected via categories in 2026, it is especially important.
