{"id":364,"date":"2023-09-25T10:29:21","date_gmt":"2023-09-25T10:29:21","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sernexuss.com\/news\/?p=364"},"modified":"2023-09-25T10:54:12","modified_gmt":"2023-09-25T10:54:12","slug":"wages-in-6-provinces","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sernexuss.com\/news\/wages-in-6-provinces\/","title":{"rendered":"New Minimum Wages in 6 Provinces"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The new minimum wage will take effect on October 1st, 2023, in Ontario, Manitoba, Saskatchewan, Nova Scotia, Newfoundland &amp; Labrador, and Prince Edward Island.<\/p>\n<p>Quebec and <a href=\"https:\/\/sernexuss.com\/british-columbia-pnp-points-calculator\/\">British Columbia<\/a> this year raised their respective minimum wages on 1 May and 1 June, respectively, after the Federal Minimum Wage increased to $16.65 on April 1.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>A business may not legally recruit any employees for less than the minimum wage, which is the lowest salary rate established by Canadian provinces.<\/li>\n<li>Paying less than the minimum standard wage is prohibited and applies to all employees, regardless of age or number of hours worked.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><span style=\"font-size: 20px;\">Ontario New Minimum Wages<\/span><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>On 1<sup>st<\/sup> October, <a href=\"https:\/\/sernexuss.com\/ontario-immigrant-nominee-program\/\">Ontario<\/a> will implement a new minimum wage of $16.55 per hour. From $15.50 an hour, this represents an increase of $1.05.<\/li>\n<li>The Ontario government estimates that this hike will result in a salary boost of more than $2,200 annually for those obtaining the minimum wage and putting in 40 hours per week.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><span style=\"font-size: 20px;\">Manitoba New Minimum Wages<\/span><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>On October 1st, <a href=\"https:\/\/sernexuss.com\/manitoba-pnp-points-calculator\/\">Manitoba<\/a> will implement a new minimum wage of $15.30 per hour.<\/li>\n<li>There is $1.15 rise above the current $14.15 hourly minimum wage.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4><span style=\"font-size: 20px;\">Nova Scotia New Minimum Wages<\/span><\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li>On October 1, 2023, Nova Scotia will also raise the nominal wage for the second time, to $15 an hour. A $1.40 elevate has been made to the minimum wage.<\/li>\n<li>Previously, the minimum wage was raised from $13.60 per hour to $14.50 per hour on April 1, 2023.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h5><span style=\"font-size: 20px;\">Saskatchewan New Minimum Wages<\/span><\/h5>\n<ul>\n<li>On October 1st, <a href=\"https:\/\/sernexuss.com\/saskatchewan-points-calculator\/\">Saskatchewan<\/a> will raise the province&#8217;s minimum wage by one dollar, from $13 to $14 per hour.<\/li>\n<li>The minimum wage in Saskatchewan was last increased on October 1, 2022, when it was raised from $11.81 to $13.00 per hour.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h6><span style=\"font-size: 20px;\"><strong>Newfound land and Labrador<\/strong><\/span><\/h6>\n<ul>\n<li>The average wage is also rising in Newfoundland and Labrador for the second time this year.<\/li>\n<li>Starting on October 1, the new minimum wage will be $15 per hour.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h6><span style=\"font-size: 20px;\">Prince Edward Island New Minimum Wages<\/span><\/h6>\n<ul>\n<li>On October 1, 2023, the standard wage of Prince Edward Island (PEI) will increase by 50 cents to $15 per hour.<\/li>\n<li>Prior to this, PEI raised the minimum wage by 80 cents to $14.50 per hour from $13.70 per hour on January 1, 2023.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong><em>Stay tuned with Sernexuss Immigration for the latest immigration news and updates!<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n    <div class=\"xs_social_share_widget xs_share_url after_content \t\tmain_content  wslu-style-1 wslu-share-box-shaped wslu-fill-colored wslu-none wslu-share-horizontal wslu-theme-font-no wslu-main_content\">\n\n\t\t\n        <ul>\n\t\t\t        <\/ul>\n    <\/div> \n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The new minimum wage will take effect on October 1st, 2023, in Ontario, Manitoba, Saskatchewan, Nova Scotia, Newfoundland &amp; Labrador, and Prince Edward Island.
