On 23 November 2023, New Quebec Immigration Changes came into effect. It was published in the Gazette officielle du Québec on 08 November 2023. Applicants who want to be selected under the economic immigration program now have to meet the requirements of speaking French.
The economic immigration program was enhanced to meet the labour force issues, encourage economic development, and boost the vitality of the French language throughout Quebec.
The new annual Quebec immigration targets 45,150 admissions in selected categories. 33,800 and 38,200 in qualified workers, 1,100 and 1,500 in business immigrants, and up to 100 candidates in other economic immigration plans.
