In the week ending July 14, IEC 2023 issued 1,370 invitations to apply (ITAs) for work permits. Canada has distributed 98,025 invitations overall since the 2023 IEC season began on January 9.
During the IEC 2023 season, Canada has set up a quota to accept 90,000 new immigrants from more than 30 eligible countries.
Even though more than 98,000 people have already been invited, there are still 21,670 open slots.
This week, 1,179 fresh open work permit invitations were given out under the IEC Working Holiday visa category. 87,796 invites have already been sent in 2023, making this the largest category in IEC. 17,956 positions are still open under the IEC Working Holiday visa category, though.
Under the Young Professionals category, 149 closed work permit invitations were given out, compared to just 42 under the International Co-op (Internship) category.
IEC 2023 season processing period has now increased to 10 weeks, according to the most recent IRCC processing report.
