Sean Fraser, the new housing minister and the former minister of immigration, takes back the idea of capping the number of overseas students.
In an interview with CTV, Minister Fraser was questioned about whether the Canadian government will move forward with the proposal of limiting international students
According to Fraser, the federal government must work with its provincial and institutional allies to support international students and make sure that their new host communities can “accept” them once they arrive in Canada.
He said “The program is good for Canada; both in the short and long terms. My preference is to continue to accept a sizable number of overseas students.”
