In the week ending July 28, International Experience Canada (IEC) 2023 distributed 2,120 invitations to apply (ITAs) for work permits.
Since the 2023 IEC season began on January 9, Canada has issued a total of 101,792 invites for work permits in 3 categories.
- During the IEC 2023 season, a predetermined quota of 90,000 new arrivals from more than 30 eligible countries was to be accepted, with further quotas being added as required.
- This week, the IEC 2023 Working Holiday visa quota for the Korean, Republic was raised by 2,000 to a total of 8,500.
- In addition, 750 places for Chile were added last week. In the beginning, there were just 400 Chileans allowed to immigrate, but now 1,150 will be permitted.
Even though more than 100,000 people have already been invited, there are still 22,417 open positions across all three categories.
This week, 1,942 fresh open work permit invitations were given out under the IEC Working Holiday visa category.
