On 01 January 2024, the New Canada Work Permit Wage Requirement will be enacted. The Minister of Employment and Social Development Canada (ESDC), Randy Boissonnault, revised the temporary foreign worker (TFW) program.
The roadmap is redesigned to reflect the present condition of the labour market. At the beginning of January 2024, employers will be required to review the wages of temporary foreign workers.
These evaluations will ensure that Canadian companies pay the temporary foreign workers at the prevailing market rate. Furthermore, by 30 August 2024, the Canadian government will announce the extension and implementation of additional measures for the development of labour market and economy.
