Manitoba Expression of Interest Draw #259

The Manitoba Expression of Interest Draw #259 has been released and the province has sent out 184 Letters of Advice to Apply (LAAs) under the Skilled Worker Stream. This draw is indeed a proof of Manitoba’s unyielding strategy of choosing such candidates and workers that are eligible under the Temporary Public Policy. Besides the above fact, the aim here is to fulfill the existing key labour market needs in the entire province.

Who Was Selected in Manitoba EOI Draw #259?

Manitoba Expression of Interest Draw #259 welcomed applications from the Skilled Worker Stream that the MPNP had directly contacted through the strategic recruitment initiatives or had passed under the Temporary Public Policy (TPP). Only those profiles were taken into account that had –

● A successful MPNP invitation or TPP qualification
● Updated papers such as language test scores together with valid invitation number.

Those candidates who were working in regulated professions were also included in the selection, but they were required to submit the evidence of full Manitoba licensing along with their current employment in that respective field, or else their full application might be rejected.

Why This Draw Matters

This Draw with 184 LAAs was among the most powerful rounds and it clearly reveals Manitoba’s strategy to hire skilled workers who can satisfy the immediate demands of the labour market. The very fact that quite a few TPP candidates were included is a clear indication of Manitoba’s intention to help the labour force that is already working in the province.

It is recommended that the applicants keep their EOI profiles accurate and valid at all times because one of the common reasons for not being granted an LAA is incomplete language tests or erroneous invitation information.
