Canada immigration new PR rule: workers from 16 new occupations are now eligible\u00a0<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\r\n

Canadian Government has announced that they are continuously working to welcome immigrants with specific skills required for the development of the economy of the country to execute the labor shortages of the country.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

Immigration Minister Sean Fraser (Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada) has declared the implementation of the NOC (National Occupational Classification) 2021 for the Express Entry system managed immigration program. This new NOC 2021 system will help Canada bring on talented and skilled individuals in great-demand sectors like healthcare, construction, and transportation.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

Some examples of the newly eligible 16 occupations included in Express Entry<\/a> are Nurse aides, long-term care aides, hospital attendants, elementary and secondary school teacher assistants, and transport truck drivers.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

\r\n\r\n<\/span><\/p>\r\n

The National Occupational Classification system is used to keep track and classify all the jobs in the labor market of Canada and is getting updated to bring transition in the Canadian economy and in the work nature. All the changes in the NOC system reinforce the commitment made by the immigration minister to broaden the immigration pathways to PR<\/a> (permanent residency) for temporary workers, and international students as there will be many jobs that will become eligible for the immigration programs operated under Express Entry. Through this NOC 2021 change, 16 occupations that were not eligible in the past can now get benefits from increased immigration pathways to PR.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

Overseas workers with work experience in the following 16 occupations can now apply through Express Entry as they are now eligible for it:<\/span><\/p>\r\n

  • Dental assistants and dental laboratory assistants<\/span><\/li>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n
  • Nurse aides, orderlies, and patient service associates<\/span><\/li>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n
  • Pharmacy technical assistants and pharmacy assistants<\/span><\/li>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n
  • Elementary and secondary school teacher assistants<\/span><\/li>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n
  • Sheriffs and Bailiffs<\/span><\/li>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n
  • Correctional service officers<\/span><\/li>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n
  • By-law enforcement and other regulatory officers<\/span><\/li>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n
  • Estheticians, electrologists, and related occupations<\/span><\/li>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n
  • Residential and commercial installers and servicers<\/span><\/li>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n
  • Pest controllers and fumigators<\/span><\/li>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n
  • Other repairers and servicers<\/span><\/li>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n
  • Transport truck drivers<\/span><\/li>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n
  • Bus drivers, subway operators, and other transit operators<\/span><\/li>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n
  • Heavy equipment operators<\/span><\/li>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n
  • Aircraft assemblers and aircraft assembly inspectors<\/span><\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n

    The NOC (National Occupational Classification) is the national recommendation for professions in Canada. It offers a classified and systematic structure that arranges the complete occupational activity in Canada for assembling, inspecting, and propagating occupational data for labor market information and employment-related program administration. The occupational information helps the labor market and career intelligence, skills development, occupational forecasting, labor supply, and demand analysis, employment equity, and various other programs and services.\u00a0IRCC uses the NOC to regulate and evaluate the occupational eligibility criteria under its temporary and permanent residency programs.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\r\n
